Wax Melt Storage Ideas

I love using wax melts and fragrance warmers in my home. These air fresheners are always the perfect gift for my mom and sisters. However, I always have a ton of these packages laying around the cabinets. So here are some wax melt storage ideas whether you use an electric fragrance warmer or oil burners that use tea lights.

#1: Clear Bins

  • If you have read any of my other organization and storage posts, you probably know that I love clear storage bins.  I find clear bins convenient as it is easy to see exactly what is in them.
  • If you buy wax melts in the clam shell type packaging such as, Scentsy Bars, these are great because you can leave them in those packages so that the fragrance oil doesn’t transfer onto the neighboring bar.
  • I use this type of storage for my most used bars.

#2: Empty Candle Jars

  • I love this one because it involves reusing an item and giving it new life.
  • It simply requires removing the old remaining candle wax from the candle jar and removing the label from the jar.
  • This wax melt storage idea is better for the type of wax melt that is made in silicone molds rather than the ones that come in the clam shells.

#3: Ceramic Jars

  • This is also a great way to store the individual melts or wax tarts. The jars come in different colors however aren’t clear in case you don’t want the melts visible.
  • If you are going for a specific decor look, they come in multiple styles.

#4: Glass Jars

  • Similar to the empty candle jar idea, the glass jar is good for storing and displaying one scent. These are best for the individual wax melts as they come separate and not in bars.
  • I love using the clear, glass jars especially when the wax melts are in cute shapes and colors that I want to show off.
  • If it is a scent that I have a lot of, I will opt for a larger jar. However, I mainly just use a lot of smaller jars.
  • Additionally, if it is a fragrance that I really love, I’ll go through the effort of getting a label since I know I’ll be refilling that jar.

#5: Storage Boxes

  • There are some many different types of boxes to pick from whether you are looking for something for a wax bar or wax tart.
  • Many of these types of boxes can be found in craft stores.
  •  Small plastic segment boxes are great for wax tarts, while I like larger plastic boxes that stack for the wax melt bars or clamshell packaging.
  • Another key point, I like to use these boxes to separate by seasons and scent types. My sister has a shop of made-to-order items and was able to make me some labels to help me keep track of what was in the boxes.
  • I like the craft type boxes with removable dividers so that I can make my own segments based on the various sizes.
  • If you aren’t a fan of plastic, you can opt for a wicket basket.

Conclusion

Thanks for checking out my wax melt storage ideas for storing your favorite scents.

As a reminder, make sure regardless of the storage type you are using, you must store away from pets and out of reach of children. Additionally, make sure pets and children don’t have access to the fragrance warmer or oil burner.

You want to store wax melts in a cool, dark area. We want to avoid the product melting and sweating. Also ensure they are kept away from direct sunlight.
